Don't forget: You need to fill out a W-8BEN tax form.
What is a W-8BEN?
Short answer: It's a tax form that helps ensure you aren't overtaxed. If your employer is based in the U.S. and you live outside of the country, you'll need to fill out and submit the form to help determine proper tax reporting and withholdings. However, if you're a non-U.S. citizen living in the U.S., you do not need to complete a W-8BEN form.
Why do I need to fill this out?
To ensure that you're taxed at the correct rate for where you live and to avoid any unnecessary withholdings, you're required to complete the W-8BEN when you open an account and then again every three years.
